Weiss JohnWEISS, John  -  John Weiss passed away May 18, 2022.

Born March 17, 1937. He died at home, totally ready to leave.

I am Lisa, his wife. I am happy for him but sad for all of us.

John was a wonderful father. Our son Ronnie died in 2020 which was devastating.  Our daughter Katherine .  She always had a special relationship with her Dad.

John had seven siblings.  He loved them all.  His brother Bert Weiss and sister Lillian Weiss in Peterborough are still with us.

John was a Hairstylist Extraordinaire. Dutiful and kind. A very gifted man with a passion for life.

John had the rare capacity to captivate an audience with wonderful stories.

Our marriage was truly made in heaven.  He was my best friend.

However, I am also well aware that he was best friend to may of his clients.  He was loved.  He was a legend in the community.  His past sprinkled with many celebrities who kept in touch.

He enjoyed his Hairstyling years at CBC. He was a judge for Miss Canada.  President of the Hairdressing Association.  He was the Stylist for most of the McLaughlin Family and their staff at the Parkwood Estate.  He was famous for his fabulous Historical Fashion Show Hairstyles.

John was a passionate gardener.  He won best at the Peony Festival.  He won at Communities in Bloom for may years.  He was famous for his Hosta Garden. May weddings and successful fundraisers were hosted in the beautiful Garden Oasis he created.

He was a legend and led a big life.  I don’t think anyone can ever know how much I will miss him.  After 62 years, you kind of get use to someone.

Funeral arrangements have been made for Monday May 30th, visitation from 2:00 to 5:00 pm  at McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558).

Donations are gratefully accepted for the Gardens at The Parkwood Estate, Oshawa.
