FUCHS, Joanna Catharina Maria Fuchs (née van der Plas) - With her family by her side, Joanna passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on Thursday, June 2, 2022.
Joanna was the beloved wife of the late Wilhelm (Bill) Fuchs (2006),
loving mother of Eric (Kirstie), Hester and Tim (Megan), and cherished Oma of Cameron, Kelsey, Gavin and Ethan.
Joanna came from a family of 11 children and is also loved dearly and remembered by her remaining siblings Arsenio, Paula, Toos, and their families, in Holland.
Joanna met Bill, the love of her life, on a streetcar in Rotterdam at the age of 15.
In 1959 they were married and set off together for a new life in Canada just a few days later. In 1971, Joanna and Bill started their own business, Williams Fluidair, which is still operated by the family today.
As a couple, Joanna and Bill enjoyed travelling, spending time at their cottage and boating. Joanna engaged in a number of creative pursuits, such as pottery, painting and gardening.
Friends and family will remember her as a proud and kind woman who was sophisticated and fashionable, and also had a great sense of humour.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
