Mountenay DavidMOUNTENAY, David John  -  February 17, 1941 – June 10, 2022 

David passed away at his home in Newcastle surrounded by his loving family on June 10, 2022.

Dear husband of Louise (nee Whitney). Cherished father of Cam (Mandy), Sherrie Brown (Al) and Crystal Fanning (John). Also cherished father to Jarod McDonald (Lynlie) and Kris McDonald (Tracey).

Loving grandfather to Alex, Julia, Dillon, Garret, Richard (Brittany), Liam, Jessica (Travis), Liam Ferguson, Aidan, Cassie and Lily. GG to Charles and Alanna.

Much loved brother to Cathy Kehoe (John).

Predeceased by his best friend and brother in law Gerry Kehoe.

He will be sadly missed by Angela, his sister in law Pat Fletcher (Don) and his museum/military family.

David had a full life. He was one of the founding members of the now Ontario Regiment Museum located in Oshawa.

If he was not there you could find him working on his extensive model railroad or travelling North America (he loved Canada), Europe and of course Costa Rica.

Thank you to the staff at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, Dr. Harvey Williams, nurses and PSWs who made home visits.

Also to Rick Spratley and Jeremy Blowers whose support to the family is so appreciated.

Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Ontario Regiment Museum, 1000 Stevenson Rd. N. Oshawa on Thursday June 16, 2022 at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Ontario Regiment Museum or the  CHARITY of your choice.
