FAWCETT, John William - January 21, 1928 - June 18, 2022
Beloved husband of 59 years to Mary Fawcett (née Whitehead).
Loving father of Andrew Fawcett and Elizabeth Wetmore (Jon).
Cherished grandfather of Ben, Abby and Cameron, who he was so proud of.
Survived by sisters and brothers in law Nora Henderson (Jim), David Whitehead ( Linda), and Georgina Whitehead and many nieces and nephews who meant so much to him.
Predeceased by his dear sisters Grace Brown (Ken) and Gwen MacDonald (Ken) and brothers in law Stan Whitehead (Betty), Bob Whitehead, and Bud Whitehead and friend of nearly 80 years Jim Gartshore.
Dad was a very generous, kind man who was always first in line to help a neighbour or friend.
He was a dedicated family man and an avid musician, golfer and euchre player.
He had a great silly sense of humour and never refused a piece of pie.
He will be missed.
Arrangements entrusted with W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL .
A funeral service will take place for both John and Mary at St. John’s Anglican Church (150 Victoria Street East, Whitby) on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 2pm with visiting starting at 1pm..
If desired, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Anglican Church, Whitby.
