St John GaryST. JOHN, Gary - (August 26, 1938 – July 7, 2022) -

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary St. John on Thursday, July 7, 2022.

Gary was 83 years old and is survived by Helen, his beloved wife and soulmate of 57 years.

Gary was the loving father of Michael (Lisa) and Christopher. Cherished grandfather of Luke and Maddie.

Brother to Dale (Carol), Judy MacDonald (Ken, predeceased) and Lenore Millson (predeceased).

Gary will be forever remembered for his endless love and care for his family, and, specifically, his adoration of his grandchildren.

Gary’s engaging personality, boisterous laugh, contagious good spirit, and quick wit earned him new friends and acquaintances everywhere he went. He loved getting to know people and they loved him back.

Mr. Saint’s booming voice was unmistakable in minor hockey arenas across Ontario as he cheered on his favourite teams of the day; the Oshawa Minor Generals and Lady Generals, York-Simcoe Express, and the St. Andrew’s Saints.

Gary’s confidence combined with a tireless and unparalleled work ethic led to great success in the milk business. He was the model of getting the work done regardless of the time of day or late hour of the night, but made the time for his family, who always came first.

Relentlessly involved in plumbing and electrical projects, forever innovating new ideas, and riding his Kubota tractor at every chance, Gary loved being at the cottage. His family is heartbroken by the thought of summers without him there, but truly comforted by the amazing memories of life together on Gull Lake.

Visitation for Gary will be held Sunday, July 17th from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street W., followed by a funeral service from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gary's memory may be made to Lakeridge Health Foundation, https://lhfoundation.ca/.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at  oshawafuneralservices.com for the St. John family.
