BRENNER, Albert Anton - (1932 - 2022)

It is with great sadness that we announce that Albert Anton Brenner passed away quickly and suddenly at 4:06 pm on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Ajax-Pickering hospital.

He was 90 years of age at the time of his passing.

Albert was predeceased by his beloved wife Gertrude Brenner (nee Link), his siblings Anton Brenner and Rosemarie Geis, and his parents Anton and Ida (Enders) Brenner.

Albert will be greatly missed by his only child Belinda, his three grandchildren Brosnan, Felicity and Hayden, in whose collective hearts he will live on, and anyone who knew him.

Albert was born on January 31, 1932 in Lauingen, Germany.

He married his love, Gertrude, also from Germany, in 1954, to whom he was married until her passing in late 2018. He immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1955 and, within days of arriving, began working for Audi/Volkswagen Canada, where he worked as Plant Engineer for approximately 37 years until he retired at the age of 60.

Albert was a family man. He cherished his wife, whom he greatly missed since her passing and whose hand he no doubt holds once again.

He loved his three grandchildren with all of his heart, caring for, teaching and guiding them. He was his daughter’s rock.

He was a knowledgeable, friendly, kind-hearted, honest, and giving man. He lived independently in his own home, for which he was extremely happy, until the month before his passing, when he moved to a retirement residence. A better male role model his daughter and grandchildren could not have had.

A private family only visitation will take place on Thursday, July 14th. After a Catholic blessing, later that afternoon, Albert (together with the cremated remains of his beloved wife Gertrude) will be laid to rest at Pine Ridge Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of any flowers, the family would appreciate donations to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
