Crowells RaymondCROWELLS, Raymond Lloyd  -  It is with deep sadness, but also so grateful for a long life, that we announce the passing of our beloved father.

Raymond, two months shy of his 91st birthday.

Raymond was born September 13th, 1931 in Oshawa to William Crowells and Selena Gower.

Beloved husband of Shirley Crowells (nee Ellegett) for 69 years.

Proud and loving father of William (d. May 19, 1954), Susan Vandermeer (d. Gary Vandermeer 2004), Debbie Spicher (Donny), Laurie Crowells, Kathy Dobbie (Dave), and Brian (Sarah).

Amazing papa to 8 grandchildren, as well as great grandfather to 16. Predeceased by grandson Derek (d. 2013).

Loving brother of Emma (d.), Bub (d.), George, Scotty (d.), Francis (d.), Edward (d.), James (d.), Fred (d.), Kenneth, and Barbara (d.). Loved uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Dad worked for General Motors for 30 years and enjoyed 32 years of retirement.

Dad loved nothing better than spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and of course his best time was having us all gather at Christmas and spoiling us all.

Dad was a selfless man who sacrificed and gave everything he could to his family, and helped so many others.

Dad looked forward to his time spent with his brothers and good friends at Silver Lake Hunting Camp, where he was a member since around 1951. When age became a problem to actually join in on the hunt, he became the camp cook and enjoyed every moment he spent there.

Dad was a great story teller and every story he told us kids, he then told the same stories to his grandkids and great grandkids with such enthusiasm and we never got tired of hearing them. He also was the master of practical jokes, which all of us were the recipient of at one time, especially his friends at the Hunting Camp.

He will be dearly missed by so many.

Dad has requested no funeral, and a private family burial will take place at a later date.
