Gangemi JoanGANGEMI, Joan (Pope) Gangemi   -  DECEMBER 7, 1931 – JULY 11, 2022

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Gangemi in her 91st year after a brief and courageous battle with Acute Leukemia.

Joan passed peacefully with her family by her side. Joan is survived by her loving husband Joseph (Joe) of 68 years.

They have shared an amazing life together for 74 years, when their love story began.

Joan was predeceased by her mother Eva Warman, her sisters Beverley and Gail and her brother Paul Pope.

Joan is survived by her children Deena Durack (Patrick), Joel, Dale Hickey (Jim) and Darla.

Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kaylee Gangemi, Erin Daniels (Chris), Kelly Durack (Deanna), Brad Hickey (Kayleigh), Kevin Hickey (Ailish), Rachel Hickey (Dylan), and great grandchildren Aria and Theo Daniels, and Miles and Grace Hickey. Joan has touched many lives.

She was loved and adored not only by her family but also her extended family and by anyone who met her. She has been surrounded by many friends, from Garrard Road Co-op neighbourhood to the friends from Chandos Lake.

No one could have asked for a more kind, loving, thoughtful and generous wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Rest in peace. We all love you. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Lakeridge Health Cancer Centre.
