McKENNA, Marilou - September 1957 - July 2022
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Marilou Christine Anne McKenna on Monday, July 4, 2022 at the age of 64.
Beloved daughter of Michael (deceased) and Mary. Sister to Stephen (Doreen), Joseph (Pamela) and Gerald (Elizabeth). Aunt to Daniel and Kelsea, Christine, and Bruce and Ross.
Born in the Halifax Infirmary in 1957, Marilou had a long and distinguished career in academia at York University, completing a Doctorate in Victorian Literature in 2011.
She was active in the William Morris Society of Canada and in the condo community where she lived.
In the latter part of her life, she experienced poor health, but bravely persevered through whatever life threw at her. Her courage and stamina were an inspiration to us all. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial mass was held at St. Bernadette Parish in Ajax on July 14, with interment the same day.
