SCRIVER, Allen Joseph - Suddenly and unexpected, Allen Joseph Scriver passed away at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, surrounded by his family on July 14th 2022.
He was a loving husband, best friend and soulmate to his wife Frieda, an amazing dad to Darryl (Rene), Brandi, Nicole (Tom), Adam (Heather), Randy (Janet) Al jr ( Marlene) and a grampa to 11 grandchildren... a son to the late Lucy and George Scriver, brother to Betty Schrader and the late Bud Scriver and a dog dad to our little girl Lucy.
Al was a hard working member of the Operating Engineers Local 793 for 53 years and tried to retire at least 10 times... He taught Heavy Equipment at Durham College for several semesters and was so proud when Darryl and Nathan chose to take up his trade.
Al had a very special bond with his granson Nathan, he was a father figure that Nathan could count on always.
This man was larger than life and lived each day to the fullest. He was such a good sport trying new things and was always excited for what our next adventure would be. Al touched many lives and his wonderful circles of friends were like family to him, he loved each and everyone of you... Al could always be counted on for a fun time and lending a helpful hand.
We would like to thank the staff in CCU Bowmanville Hospital that cried along with us and for doing everything possible to keep him with us.
A Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.
