Fawcett MaryFAWCETT, Mary Elizabeth (née whitehead)   -  December 4, 1930 - August 1, 2022

Passed away peacefully August 1, 2022 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, with her daughter by her side.

Predeceased by only 44 days by her beloved husband of nearly 60 years John Fawcett, brothers Stan Whitehead, Bob Whitehead and Bud Whitehead as well as sisters and brothers in laws Betty Whitehead, Ken and Gwen MacDonald and Ken and Grace Brown.

Survived by her children Andrew Fawcett, Elizabeth Wetmore (Jon), her treasured grandchildren Ben, Abby and Cameron and her cherished sister Nora Henderson (Jim), brother David Whitehead (Linda) and sister-in-law Georgina Whitehead.

As well as many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

Mom was a kind, gentle and generous caregiver who always put others first.

Family and faith were her greatest priorities.

She was a volunteer in the community and at church throughout the years and helped manage a family business.

Mary was known as one of the kindest souls that you could ever meet - would never say a disparaging word about anything or anyone.

She shared tea and cookies with so many people over her many years, with warm welcomes and unparalleled kindness offered to all.  No one could leave Mary’s presence without feeling warm inside.   She will be missed.

Arrangements entrusted to W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL , Whitby.

A funeral service will take place for both John and Mary at St. John’s Anglican Church (150 Victoria Street East, Whitby) on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at 2pm with visiting starting at 1pm.

Interment will follow at St. John’s Port Whitby Cemetery.

Following the interment, everyone is welcome to the church hall for a reception.

Donations if desired can be directed to St John’s Anglican Church, Whitby or Beaches Presbyterian Church, Toronto.
