ANKER, Jean (Adriaantje) Anker - Passed away on Sat. Aug. 6, 2022 at Oak Ridges Hospice, Port Perry at the age of 92.
She was born in South-Holland on Feb. 2, 1930, the fifth of seven children to Marinus and Tonnetje Van Sprang.
Jean and her husband immigrated to Canada shortly after their marriage in 1953.
She dedicated her life to taking care of her family.
She opened her heart and home to many over the years who were far from home and they too became part of her family, especially during holidays.
She is now joyfully reunited with her husband Bill (2002), daughter Annette (2010) and 5 of her siblings.
Lovingly remembered by her children: Bill (Astrid), Martin and Peter, son-in-law Scott, grandchildren Willie (Lizzie), Fraser (Cassie), Andrew (Nicole), Nathan and Cearra, and her sister Jo and extended family in the Netherlands and USA.
We will always remember her resilience to persevere through any challenge with a smile and a peaceful heart. Special thanks and gratitude is extended to all the PSWs, nurses and staff who cared for her through the years at home, at Westshore Village and in Hospice.
