BOURRIE, John  -  45+ Year Employee of General Motors Oshawa (Supervisor in Quality Control, and Reliability)

Peacefully surrounded by his family, John passed away at Lakeridge Health Ajax on August 20, 2022, at the age of 77.

Loving father of Joe (wife Vanessa) and Suzanne (husband Jonathan).

Cherished Grandpa of Alexandra, Isabel, William, and Vivienne.

Predeceased by his parents, Francis and Marietta and his sister, Mary Francis; John will be lovingly remembered by Edna Bourrie, brother-in-law Dave Frolick, his nephews Jim, Paul and Michael and their families, Janet Barradas (pre-deceased) and her family, by his long-time cherished friends, and those that had the pleasure of knowing him.

John was born in Oshawa on March 23, 1945.

He moved to Montreal in 1967 to start his career with General Motors. In 1971, he settled in Lorraine, Quebec with his beloved family, until moving back to Oshawa in 1983.

Some of John’s fondest memories were of spending time with his family at the cottage that he built with his father in Lac Chaud, Quebec in the Laurentians.

He will be remembered for his love of Motorcycles, Travel, Biking, Golfing, Skiing, Music, movies, Theatre, his newspaper, his naps, his quick wit and love of laughter, and, of course, his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs.

A private cremation has taken place.   Arrangements with the De Stefano Funeral Home.

If desired, memorial donations to Parkinson’s Canada https://www.parkinson.ca would be appreciated.
