DRUMMON, Roy Harper Drummond   -  Today we announce the loss of Roy Harper Drummond who passed away on August 25, 2022.

Roy’s life began in Edinburgh Scotland in 1936 and he was the 4th of five children in a lively family.

Roy was an excellent athlete excelling in football (soccer) and sprinting.

He was in the Parachute Regiment of the British Army and upon the completion of his service as a paratrooper he met and married his wonderful wife Norma. They had three sons David (deceased), Danny and Roddy born in Edinburgh but decided that they would venture to Canada in 1966, and with Roy’s skillset as an electrician, opportunities for employment were waiting.

Once in Canada Roy gained employment in his trade and the family had found their home.

He had a great life accentuated with good friends, family and many fun times. His grandsons Cameron and Mitchell (sons of Danny and his wife Sherry) were the delight of his life.

He loved his family and provided a solid foundation for his sons to find success in their lives.

Roy always went out of his way to help his family and would do whatever he could to assist in any way. He also enjoyed his outings to the Royal Canadian Legion whether to watch a football game or enjoy a cold pint.

Roy will be sadly missed by his wife Norma (nee Marriott), son Danny and his wife Sherry, grandsons Cameron and Mitchell, son Roddy and his wife Barb, relatives in Scotland, England and Australia, and the friends he made throughout his life.

Arrangements with McEachnie Funeral Home.
