DOWN, Donald Orval Down - It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our father and grandfather, Donald Down, of Oshawa on Friday September 9th, at the age of 88, three days shy of his 89th birthday.
He was born on September 12th 1933 to Russell and Ruth Down.
Beloved husband of the late Phyllis Duff (1989).
He will be lovingly and proudly remembered by his two daughters, Karen (Eric), & Patty (Raymond).
Cherished Grandpa to Jessica, Jenna, Taylor, Kirsten & Gregory.
He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Donald's family wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at the Village of Taunton Mills, for their compassionate care of Dad for the past few years.
A sincere thank you to the health care team of the Palliative Care Unit at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
Visitation will be held at the COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway #2, Courtice on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 12:30 until the time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:30 p.m.
Interment to follow at GROVESIDE CEMETERY .
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Alzheimer's Society, or the Palliative Care Unit at Lakeridge Health Oshawa would be greatly appreciated by the family.
