GUNTER, Franz Lauterbach    - 81, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2022 after a long and hard fought battle with cancer.

Gunter was an avid outdoorsman, an incredible handyman, and most passionate about family.

Coming to Canada from Austria as a young man, he possessed a never-ending ability to see the positive in things and took on every challenge with strength and determination.

Kind and generous, he loved to laugh and tell his stories, and was intent on leaving a legacy through his family. He was a man who gave you his time freely, his wisdom honestly, and his love abundantly. He was an incredible grandfather, father, partner and friend.  He was known as Opa to so many, and words cannot express how much he will be missed.

A private service will be held for immediate family, followed by a celebration of life drop-in reception for anyone wishing to pay their respects.  The reception will be held at #63 Campbell Drive, Uxbridge from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday September 19, 2022.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Prostate Cancer Fight Foundation (PCFF) or its fundraising arm "The Ride for Dad".

Gunter used to volunteer at their ride events and was supportive of men's cancer initiatives.
