Johnston UnaJOHNSTON, Una Madeline (nee Harrigan)   -   April 29, 1927 - September 20, 2022

Passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Wynfield Long Term Care with family by her side.

May she finally Rest In Peace.

Deeply loved wife of David John (deceased 1996).

Loving mother of Leah, Sheila and Frank (Marian).

Cherished grandmother of Paula (Steve), Matthew (Jacqui), Kathleen (deceased 1994), Erin (Rob), Julia, Jerrett and Cally (Kyle).

Great grandmother of Madeline, Hannah, Tristan, Theo, Ben and Luke.

Pre-deceased by her four brothers. Una will be dearly missed by extended family and friends.  She was a devoted teacher, an avid daily walker, regardless of the weather. Her special scent was Chanel No5.

Her Roman Catholic faith was a pillar of her life. Una’s grandchildren had a special place in her heart.

Having never sewn before, she created seven quilts for them when she retired from teaching.

Once she finished, she never picked up a needle and thread again.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist (903 Giffard Street, Whitby), on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 10am. Interment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Reception to follow in the parish hall.

Donations in memory of Una may be made to St. Vincent de Paul or a  CHARITY of your choice.
