PRESTON, Donna Louise (nee MARTIN)  -  February 12, 1937 – October 10, 2022

In her 86th year, Donna passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her loving family on Monday October 10, 2022.

This brought to a close her lengthy battle with Cancer.

A lifelong resident of Bowmanville and business owner, she was predeceased by her spouse, Maurice Preston (2015) and daughter-in-law, Sheila James. She is survived by her sons, Martin & spouse Paddy Grayhurst; Wayde & partner Lisa Byers; and grandchildren: Douglas, Aidan, Verity, Georgina and Ellen.

Donna is survived by her sister Greta (Grete) and twin brother, Don (Pop). She was predeceased by siblings Marion (Non), Wesley (Baldy), Thelma (Pud), Audrey, and Jim.

Donna was a longtime supporter of Bowmanville minor hockey and held a lifelong passion for
Curling, as both an active participant and spectator.

With husband Maurice and best friends, Syd and Kay Worden, she enjoyed many years of travel following the Brier around Canada.

The Family wishes to thank all of the caregivers that gave Donna comfort and companionship in
her final days.

They include the DRCC Cancer Clinic; the Palliative care team at Lakeridge Bowmanville; Dr. Chandhoke and the PSW’s and Nurses of Paramed; the workers at WWMD agency; and the pharmacists at McGregor Drugs.

Cremation has taken place. An informal gathering of Donna’s family and friends will be held at a date to be determined soon.
