DOHERTY, Sheila Martha Doherty   -  March 7, 1950 - October 25, 2022

After bravely fighting a long battle with cancer, Sheila passed away peacefully at home with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years James (Jim), her daughter Maxine (Weldon) and her son Paul.

Sheila will be greatly missed by her family overseas and her Canadian family including brother-in-law Alfie, sisters-in-law Libby, Sadie and Marcia, and her many nieces and nephews as well as long-time family friend Tony Hamilton. Originally from Glasgow, Scotland,

Sheila was an avid gardener and extraordinary home cook.

She loved to travel and discover new places, equally pleased with simple day trips or longer travel adventures.

She’ll be fondly remembered for her generous heart that offered care and kindness to all.

Her family thanks the caring health care professionals at Princess Margaret Hospital.

In keeping with her wishes, a private cremation has occurred.

Family and friends are invited to share in a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, November 2nd at 1:30 p.m. at McEachnie Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to CAMH.
