OLIVEIRA, Carlos C. Oliveira   -  1955 - 2022

After bravely fighting a difficult battle with cancer, Carlos passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family in the early morning of October 27, 2022.

Carlos married the love of his life, Alice in 1977, who survives him.

Carlos is also survived by his son Carlos (Leah), daughter Jennifer (Mike), his brother Nelo (Dilia), and five beautiful grandchildren, Cole, Ben, Nate, Tyler and Preston.

Carlos will be greatly missed by his surviving family both overseas and in Canada, including sisters-in-law, Felicidade (Joe), Antonia (Joe), brother-in-law Antonio (Lucilia), his many caring nephews, nieces, his Tia Carolina (Manuel - predeceased), Tia Olivia and cousins, abroad, as well as his friends, colleagues and neighbours.

Originally from Porto, Portugal, Carlos and Alice came to Canada in 1978 to build a new and beautiful life – which is exactly what they did! Carlos was known for his dedication to family, his incredible work ethic, and love of gardening. He also loved traveling and returned to Portugal almost yearly to visit with loved ones and to soak up the sun and sand in Quarteira, Algarve.

In his later years, he especially took much joy in spending quality time with his wife and children, their partners, and his grandchildren.

His family would like to thank the many caring health professionals from the Lakeridge Health Cancer Centre and the Ajax/Pickering Palliative Care Team.

Arrangements with McEachnie Funeral Home.  In accordance with Carlos’ wishes, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy consider donating in Carlos’ name to the Lakeridge Health Cancer Centre.
