Shannon AntoinetteSHANNON, Antoinette Shannon   -  December 2, 1941 - October 26, 2022

In loving memory of our mother, Marie Antoinette Shannon, 80, who passed away peacefully on October 26th surrounded by family, after a very short battle with cancer.

Born December 2, 1941, in Jacquet River, New Brunswick, Antoinette was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Lawrence, her loving husband Arnold, and her sister Corinne.

Mom is survived by her sisters and brother, Veronica (Alphonse – deceased), Jeannette (Real – deceased), Camille (Jeannine), and Sylvia (Bob); her children, Ken (Sherri), Lisa (Clint – deceased), and Todd (Shannon); her grandchildren, Amanda (Junior), Cara (Tyler), Garnet (Delta), Cindy, Katie (Joey), Jack, Neil, and Dylan; great-grandchildren, Marcus, Sayde, Delaney, Maliyah, Lily, Easton, Cecilia, Emilia, and Georgia.

Mom was an exceptionally loving Nan, Nanny, and Big Nanny to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a beloved Antinet and ma tante to her nieces and nephews.

Family and her close friends meant everything to her, having us all around as often as possible for family dinners and finding any excuse for a celebration!

She looked forward to her Sunday visits with Todd’s family, visits from Stacey and the children, the Christmases at the cottage with Ken and Sherri with their matching pj’s, all the special home-cooked dinner’s made with love by Clint, and the NB summers with her sisters at the cottage.

She also loved her Best Friend Sleep Over Parties where they’d play cards for hours on end. And could Mom ever cook and bake! Best known for her incredible Christmas baking of shortbreads, date squares, fudge squares, butter tarts, sugar cookies, and Breton Brittle, she made every gathering so special.

She was also very creative and loved  making Christmas crafts with the grandchildren like her beautiful Angel nightlights and painted ornaments & figurines.

And she made us all her special knitted blankets. But her favourite hobby was shopping with the girls – for everything from clothes and shoes to house and home… that really brought her great joy!

Mom requested no services be held but rather a family gathering to celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in her name.
