SALVARINIS, Alexandra Salvarinis - 1940 - 2022
Alexandra was born in Pozdivistcha, a small town in northern Greece.
She left home at 8 years old, along with Vasilis and many other children, due to the civil war in Greece.
She ended up in Romania, where she was raised in an orphanage.
She met and married Vasilis, the love of her life.
They would have celebrated their 62nd Anniversary on December 21, 2022.
Alexandra and Vasilis emigrated to Canada in 1971, with their daughters Helen and Ann, and started a new life, overcoming new immigrant challenges with courage and determination.
Alexandra was fiercely passionate about her family. She was a nurturing and loving grandmother to Steven, Paul, Megan and Eric and great-grandmother to Olivia and Isaac.
Alexandra was also an avid gardener, putting her love and nurturing into growing both delicious vegetables and spectacularly beautiful flowers.
Alexandra was a beautiful gift in all our lives.
She generously gave with an open heart and welcoming arms. Her devotion was unwavering and she continued to show concern and consideration for her family even in her declining health.
