Donnelly PaulDONNELLY, Paul Robinson Donnelly   -  It with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend Paul Robinson Donnelly on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

Paul will be dearly missed by his loving wife Jean of 68 years.

Pre-deceased by his mother Nellie (1992), father Sandford (1968), and brother Clair (2021).

Paul is survived by his brother Gordon Donnelly.

Devoted father to his 4 children; Michael (predeceased 2018) (survived by Diane), Judy (Dave), Lynn (John), and Terri (predeceased 2016).

Loving grandfather "Poppy" to Matthew, Mark, Sean and Kelly (Michael), Sarah and Lisa (Judy), Becky and Michael (Lynn), and Joshua (Terri).

As youngsters, the grandchildren will fondly remember that "Poppy" always had a loonie in his pocket for them. He loved seeing the smiles and anticipation on their faces as they waited to receive their treasure each and every time they came to visit.

Poppy was also blessed with 16 great-grand children.

Paul was born in Oshawa, Ontario on August 19, 1936. In 1952, at the age of 16, he joined the "Boys Line" at General Motors, Oshawa and retired in 1986 with 34 years seniority.

He was a hard-working man whose priority in life was to care and provide for his family. He was always there to lend a helping hand, a much needed piece of advice, or simply an ear to bend.

He was a true gentleman to all who knew him. Family meant everything to Paul.

A special thank you goes out to the kind and compassionate caregivers at Hillsdale Estates (Trillium Trail).

Cremation and a private family gathering was held on November 13, 2022.

Arrangements entrusted with   MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME & CEMETERY .
