SCHAD, Fern Catherine Schad - JUNE 1, 1923 – NOVEMBER 20, 2022
In her 100th year, Fern Catherine Schad passed peaceful in her sleep on Sunday November 20th, at Golden Plough Lodge nursing home. Fern was born on June 1st, 1923 in Toronto, ON.
She is now reunited with her beloved late husband, Richard Gordon Schad, whom predeceased her in 1997.
Richard and Fern were married in 1942 and celebrated 55 years together.
Survived by her 4 children, Carolyn Rienstra (Luke), Kathryn Besco (Randolph), Darlene Byng, Gordon (Patrice), 14 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her sister, Welma (Jack).
Fern was a founding member of Westminster United Church in Whitby and was an active and committed member of the congregation until her passing.
A funeral service for Fern will be held Friday, November 25, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Westminister United Church, 1850 Rossland Road East, Whitby, Ontario.
A burial at MOUNT LAWN CEMETERY will occur Monday, November 28, 2022 at 1:00 PM.
Fern has requested any donations in her memory be forwarded to Westminster United Church.
