Cormier WendyCORMIER, Wendy Joy (Townshend) Cormier   -  August 25, 1946 - December 15, 2022

Wendy was born in Montreal, the daughter of Robert and Gwyneth (Ballinger) Townshend.

Wendy is survived by her sister Linda (Kirk) and brother Wayne, predeceased by her sister- in law Barb Townsend.

She was a proud mother to Lisa (Peter) and Laura (Adrian).

She is remembered and loved by her grandchildren April (Chris), Ariadne, Theoden and Great Grandson Lucas.

As well as niece Susan and nephews Stephen, Brian, David and Connor.

Wendy dedicated a portion of her career teaching students with disabilities and spent the remainder as a respected Superintendent at a building which became filled with family and long term friends.

For many she was considered a safe place and would often lend a listening ear to those in need.

She enjoyed cheering on her favourite team - the Blue Jays, watching ice skating and indulging in her daily soap operas.

Wendy lived a beautiful life and she will continue to live on in the ones who were lucky enough to love her - in our memories and in our hearts and for that we are a little less sad.

A Celebration of Life and reception will be held at BARNES MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby on Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.

In memory of Wendy memorial donations to Lakeridge Health Oshawa and the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Messages of condolence and shared memories can be left for the family by visiting barnesmemorialfuneralhome.com .
