Henninger HeinzHENNINGER, Heinz   -  It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Heinz Henninger at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on December 23rd at age 92.

Beloved husband of Ruth for 67 years.

Devoted father of Michael, Christina (Chin Tai), Thomas (Holly) and cherished Opa of Julia (David), Jakob (Melanie), Gabriele and Sebastian.

Family was the most important thing in life for him.

Heinz was born in Karlsruhe, Germany, on March 28, 1930, and emigrated to Canada in 1955.

The family lived in Toronto for 10 years and moved to Oshawa in 1965.

Heinz, as Branch Manager for Sovereign Life Insurance Company.

Heinz was a Chartered Life Underwriter and General Insurance Broker.

He, Ruth, and son Tom, who purchased his father’s brokerage in 1998, worked together for many years at Henninger Insurance and Financial Services.

Heinz and Ruth travelled extensively and loved spending time with family and friends at their cottage in Muskoka.

“Life is good” was his favourite saying.  2022 marked their 57th year as members of Club Loreley, where they attended numerous lively functions and enjoyed many happy hours.

Both are former long-time board members, Heinz as President from 1986 to 1990, and long-time members of the Loreley Singers. His son Tom was also president of Club Loreley from 2001-2003.

The family will celebrate Heinz’s life every day by continuing to think and talk about him and share memories of a wonderful, remarkable, kind and devoted husband, father and Opa, who will never be forgotten.

In Memory of Heinz, donations to:  Club Loreley Inc., 389 Dean Avenue, Oshawa ON, L1H 3E1 would be greatly appreciated.
