Hunter CatherineHUNTER, Catherine Lois June (NEE HODGSON)  -  Peacefully passed away at home on Friday, December 30, 2022, in her 85th year.

Born in Oshawa in 1938 to parents Melvin and Pearl Hodgson, June was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ervin (2011).

Loving mother of Kim (George Matthias), Jodi (Michael Smithson) and Christopher (nee Cathy Sanders).

Cherished grandmother of Lauren Matthias (Vince Mills), Curtis Matthias (Isabel Morales), Cassandra Mason (Ryan Drazilov), Marli Mason (Jimmy Riddell), Chelsea Hunter (Freddie Hermack) and Catie Hunter.

Adoring Great-grandmother of Hudson and Grayson.  Sisters, Barb (Jack Dunn) and the late Betty (late Ed Janes) and her late brother John Hodgson.

June was the proud owner of June’s Sugar & Spice for many years and enjoyed decorating cakes and spending time chatting with everyone who spent time in her store. She loved baseball (Connaught Park), skating (Children’s Area) and skiing (Oshawa Ski Club) with her family. With her husband Erv, they operated a ski school for 13 years at the Oshawa Ski Club (aka Brimacombe Ski Club), The Pee Wee Program which taught children ages 6-13 how to ski, we will always cherish these fond memories.

She loved baseball and was an avid Blue Jays fan and watched every game through out every season.

For the last 12 years she flew the coop to sunny Tampa where she enjoyed her winters with her US and Canadian friends at the Blue Jay Estates in Palm Harbor. She loved spending her winters in Florida and enjoyed watching many Blue Jays games, spring training at Dunedin Park.

She enjoyed life to the fullest and was the sunshine in everyone’s lives and will be dearly missed by her many friends and family.

Family and friends are invited to attend her Celebration of Life, held on Monday January 16, 2023 from 3 – 6 pm at McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME , 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558).
