McClure AnnMcCLURE, Ann Letitia (née Morrison) McClure   -  October 16, 1931 – January 1, 2023

Ann went home to be with her Lord, at Taunton Mills Retirement Home in Whitby, on Sunday, January 1st, 2023, in her 92nd year.

Ann was the youngest of seven children who grew up at Benarees, the family farm on the idyllic coast of Northern Ireland.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Ellen, and siblings, Betty, Nell, Mary, Martha, Bill and Joseph.

Ann is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, the Rev. Jim McClure.

Her sons, Brian (Monica) and Ronald (Diane).

Her grandchildren, Heather and Christie McClure, Sarah (Éric) D’Aoust, Brendan and Victoria McClure. Her great-granddaughters, Élise, Amélie and Naomie D’Aoust.

She is also remembered by nieces and nephews in Canada and abroad. Ann and Jim, with Brian, emigrated to Canada in 1955 and settled in rural south-western Ontario.

Shortly after Ronald was born in 1959, the family moved to Whitby. Ann had a strong faith in God and she was a steadfast supporter of Jim in his ministry. St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Whitby, was like a second family to the McClures.

Ann was very active in the life of the church.

Ann spent many happy years working at the Dr. J.O. Ruddy Hospital in Whitby. Ann was an avid gardener, baker, sewer, and knitter.

In addition to travelling to Northern Ireland frequently on holiday, Ann and Jim loved getting away to their cottage on Horseshoe Lake. Ann will be deeply missed by Jim and the rest of her family circle.

Thank you to the staff of Qualicare Home Care Whitby, Lakeridge Central East Home and Community Care staff, Taunton Mills Retirement home, Dr. G.S. Burwell, and Dr. J. Szendrey, for their care.

A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 209 Cochrane Street, Whitby, on Saturday, January 21st at 1:00 p.m.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Whitby or a CHARITY of your choice.
