MAROIS, Stella Stana (nee DIMICH)    -  May 9, 1939 - January 8, 2023

Passed away with family by her side on January 8, 2023 at the age of 83.

Loving daughter to Ljubica (Violet) and Luka (Louis) Dimich, raised in Port Colborne, ON, in a large family with many friends. Stella excelled academically and athletically throughout her youth and graduated from McMaster University.

She was a dedicated and passionate secondary school teacher for many years in Burlington, London, North York, Durham and Scarborough. She loved to be physically active participating in many activities including softball and basketball and also enjoyed supporting her husband, children and grandchildren in all their activities and pursuits.

She took great pride and joy in gardening and creating a beautiful home for all seasons. Above all else, she was a loving and giving wife, mother, grandmother (baba) and friend, enriching her loved ones' lives with her boundless enthusiasm, generosity, and selfless love.

Stella was a loving wife to Gerald (Gerry) Marois for 52 years and a treasured and adored mother to Nicole and Neil Hardy, Andre and Karina Marois, and baba to Mya and Sarah Hardy. She is survived by her loving sisters Mary, Millie, Alice and brother Danny and wife Veronica and sister-in-law Beverly, wife to her recently departed brother Louis, and their families.

Stella hopes to be remembered fondly over a cup of coffee with a smile and warm heart. She was an exceptional and one-of-a-kind person and will be forever deeply missed.

Donations can be made in Stella's memory to The Charles H. Best Diabetes Centre in Whitby, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charitable organization of your choice.
