McQuade IreneMCQUADE, Irene   -  March 13, 1951 - November 24, 2022

Irene, age 71, passed away peacefully November 24, 2022 due to a long battle with COPD.

She was born March 13, 1951 in Glasgow Scotland and moved to Canada in 1977 with her husband Pat where they eventually started a family and built a beautiful life together.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Irene.

She loved a quiet evening with her family with a glass of wine in hand (and Rod Stewart playing in the background of course).

Her and Pat were avid cruisers, allowing them to explore many parts of the world together, taking in many sunsets from their balcony over the years. Her love for Pat was the once-in-a-lifetime kind and when he passed away on May 24, 2015, her strength was tested and certainly admired. We are comforted knowing they are together once again.

For most of her career, Irene worked as an accountant eventually creating a successful business of her own in this field.

If you ask any of her clients, they would say she was very good at what she did and their level of trust in her was superior. Often clients would turn into friends and these friendships motivated her to continue working into her late 60’s. She was an incredible example for her children, who now both share the same work ethic and passion in their careers.

Irene is survived by her sisters Linda, Doreen, Roseanne, Margaret and Carol; her brother Stephen; her daughter Nicole (Jon) and her son Mark (Shannon); grandchildren, Victoria, Kyah, Rydan, Ella, Payton and Brooklyn; and her many nephews and nieces.

All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Please join us celebrating her life Saturday afternoon, January 14, 2023, at THE SIMPLE ALTERNATIVE - PICKERING. Details are listed below.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association.
