Carroll PeterCARROLL, Peter  -  JUNE 5, 1929 – JANUARY 17, 2023 

Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Tuesday, January 17th, 2023, in his 94th year.

 

Predeceased by his dearly loved wife Catherine.

 

Predeceased by his father James Carroll and mother Mary (Bradley) from Ireland.

 

Loving father of James (Annette) and Michael (Lori).  Cherished Grampa Jeepers of Patrick (Ashley), Samantha and Gramps of Michael (Colleen) and Matthew. 

Dear brother of Oliver (Kathleen), and predeceased by Nan, Pat John, James, survived by sister-in-law Shirley. 

 

He will be missed by nieces, nephews, family and friends.  Peter will be remembered as a 30 year employee to the East York Board of Education; a 50 year member of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Scarborough and a great neighbor to those on Perivale Crescent. He was a proud man who believed in family, faith and work. 

 

Peter enjoyed watching the Leafs, while having a few warm Labatts 50 and playing the Lottery.  Shortly before moving to Whitby, Peter was extremely proud of winning a local award for his lawn and gardens. 

 

For the last 20 plus years, Peter is remembered for being a fixture at Whitby Minor Hockey, Lacrosse and Soccer games.  His greatest pleasure in his senior years was watching all 4 of his grandkids play sports. 

 

“Dad – Grandpa thank you for everything, we will miss you”. “Mom has put the kettle on”.  Special thanks to the staff at Pringle Creek, PSWs Danita, Dianna and Deborah and the nurses at Oshawa General G5 unit.

 

Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Saturday, January 28th from 12:30 p.m. until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1:30 pm.  Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. 

 

Memorial donations to the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated.
