Way AngusWAY, Angus Way   -  December 1, 1940 - January 26, 2023

Angus passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday, January 26, 2023.

Born in Tamworth on December 1, 1940, the third child of Kathleen and James Way.

He was the beloved husband of 52 years to Barbara (nee Breen), loving father to Michelle (Glenn) and Ryan (Julie Walsh).

Doting Papa to his number one grandson Harrison James.

Angus is survived by his siblings Patrick (Maureen) and Eleanor Dowling (late Jim), his brother-in-law Barry Breen and his many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his brothers James (Margaret Ann), Bernard and Paul and brother-in-law Robert Breen.

Angus had a long and illustrious career as a police officer with the Ontario Provincial Police.

After working in the intelligence bureau at 90 Harbour Street in downtown Toronto, Angus spent his final years as the Detachment Commander at the Newcastle unit before he officially retired on October 31, 1994.

In his youth, Angus developed a strong and organized work ethic by working on the family farm. Always smiling and whistling, Angus had a deep appreciation for nature, animals and family.

His greatest joy was to spend time with his family, especially at his sanctuary the Hill (the hunting camp). Surrounded by the natural environment and family, this was Angus’ definition of happiness.

Angus was a man of tremendous faith, high moral fiber and integrity. He was also a man who loved to tease. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy of love for his family and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at  ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East on Saturday February 4, 2023 between 11 am-12:30 pm.

A Mass at St. Mary of the People Parish Catholic Church, 570 Marion Avenue (Stevenson Road North), on Saturday February 4, 2023 at 1 pm, followed by a reception at St. Mary of the People Hall. Interment at a later date at Assumption Cemetery, Erinsville, ON.
