ROWE, Amy (Betty) Elizabeth   -

November 13, 1920 - March 9, 2023

With family present, Betty passed away peacefully at 102 years of age on March 9, 2023 at Hillsdale Estates in Oshawa.

Betty was predeceased by her loving husband, David Rowe, her brother, Charles and her sister, Grace.

She was the daughter of Emily (Martin) and Sydney Charles White of Toronto.

Betty was a wonderful mother to her four children: Barbara McRoberts (Hugh), Chuck (Jane), Sydney (Lyn) and Robert.  She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Darcy, Anthea (Will) and Charles (Monika).

Betty was a great-grandmother to Betty and Nancy (Anthea and Will) and Gwendolyn (Charles and Monika).

Mum took joy in remembering and celebrating family birthdays and significant events.

She was always very athletic, starting out as a track star at North Toronto C. I. Then it was competitive tennis followed by badminton. Later she took up golf and curling.

These summer and winter sports became her passions and she was often a winner. She played at Thornhill Golf and Country Club and continued golfing even into her nineties! Another passion for her was Bridge.

She made many friends playing this and she continued to enjoy the game after she left North Toronto and moved to Port Perry where she played into her 101tst year.

Betty was an avid reader who delighted in reading to her grand and great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Betty’s life will be arranged at a later date.
