Richard RitaRICHARD, Rita Irene Richard

SEPTEMBER 14, 1943 – MARCH 22, 2023

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Rita Irene Richard, age 79, of Oshawa, Ontario on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

Rita fought hard but passed away peacefully with her family by her side.

Rita was born in Minto, New Brunswick on September 14th, 1943.

She was the daughter of the Late Levi and Laura (Roy) LeBlanc.

The heart and soul of her family, Rita was an amazing wife to Leonard of 58 wonderful years, incredible mom to Mike (Anita), Mark (Laura) and Sue (Andy), loving grandmother to Dena (Jim), Hannah, Emma, Luke, Lily, Ella and a loyal friend to all.

She will be dearly missed by her brother Gerald LeBlanc (Rachel) and sisters Lorraine Dupuis (late Fred), Alma Legere (Victor), Claudette Downing (late Gerald).

She also has many brothers and sisters in-law as well as several nieces and nephews who will miss her. Besides her parents Rita was predeceased by her brother Ivan LeBlanc (late Lena) and sisters Florence Garland (Ronald), Louise Stacey (Andrew), Mary LeBlanc and Cecile LeBlanc.

She always imparted an encouraging and welcoming smile to everyone she met or shared her presence with. Her caring and supportive nature allowed people around her to know they could lean on her.

Her courage, determination and charm defined her. She loved to cook and anyone who sat at her table was blessed with love and wonderful meals.

We were very lucky to be able to spend her remaining time together, talking about the good times, and how she wants to be remembered; which is through a celebration of her life at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME located at 847 King St. W, Oshawa on Sunday, April 2, 2023 with a visitation from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM followed by a memorial service at 1:30 PM in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rita's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at  oshawafuneralservices.com for the Richard family.
