It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Theresa McGarry (nee Brady) on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at the Bowmanville Hospital after a short illness.

Theresa was the beloved wife of Thomas Henry McGarry for 66 years and the loving mother of Chris (Debbie) McGarry of Sunderland, John (Tracy) McGarry of Sudbury, Mary (Scott) McGarry-Mutton of Ottawa and Jim (Sandra) McGarry of Bowmanville. Cherished Grandmother to Matthew, David, Nicole, Brian.

Dear Sister of Gerald (late Virginia) Brady of Vernon, B.C., the late Donald (late Mary) Brady of Perth, Ont., the late Sister Sheila Brady of Kingston, Ont., and Step-Sister to the late Jean (Ted) Letang of Chatham, Ont.

Theresa was born and raised in Perth, Ont. and upon marrying Tom moved to North Bay where they raised their family. Tom’s career with Canadian Pacific Railway saw them make subsequent moves to Sudbury, Ont., Winnipeg, Man., and Saskatoon, Sask. Tom and Theresa settled into retirement in Kingston, Ont. where they resided for more than 30 years.

A special thanks to Theresa’s three daughters-in-law, Sandra, Tracy and Debbie for their love and compassion in Theresa’s final days. Theresa will always live on in the heart of those she loved and who loved her.

Friends may pay their respects at Morris Funeral Home, Bowmanville on Monday, March 27th from 6 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bowmanville on Tuesday, March 28th at 11 am. Internment will be held on Tuesday, April 11th at 2 pm in Perth, Ont.

In Remembrance, contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
