DeCAIRES, Mary DeCaires  -
1955 - 2023

With heavy hearts and the utmost sadness, the DeCaires family announces the passing of our matriarch, Mary DeCaires (nee Rattansingh), beloved wife of Joseph DeCaires, who unexpectedly passed away on Saturday April 08, 2023.

Mary is survived by her husband Joseph and their two children, Kristina and Richard (Priyanka); her sister Violet and her children Christopher, Samantha and Sabrina along with her sister Vera. She is also predeceased by her elder sister Sylvia, her brother-in-law Richard, and her parents, Roodal and Dolly Rattansingh.

Mary will also be greatly missed by her in-law family, including all her nieces and nephews.

Mary was born in Trinidad on September 22, 1955 to Roodal and Dolly.

Mary was a constant beacon of love, guidance and support to her family and friends. She was passionate, generous, kind-hearted, and never afraid to speak her mind. She worked tirelessly to take care of her family and to her last day, always prioritized helping her family when in need.

Mary will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her and getting to know her.

A Memorial Service honouring her life will be held on Monday April 17, 2023 from 12pm-3pm at the McEachnie Funeral Home Family Centre, 28 Old Kingston Road in Ajax, Ontario.

As a survivor of breast cancer, in lieu of flowers or other considerations, the family asks that you please consider donating in her honour to the Canadian Cancer Society.
