KOVACK David  -

December 5, 1943  April 9, 2023

On Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023, David Kovack, beloved husband and father, passed away at his home in Pontypool, Ontario, at age 79.

Born on Dec 5, 1943 in Oshawa, Ontario, Dave was the son of Andrew and Anna Kovach and the youngest of their four children: Tim, Lydia, and Ann. He spent his formative years in the Oshawa area attending Donovan High School where he participated in a variety of sports, developing his lifelong passion for the outdoors. Dave went on to become an electrician, enjoying his occupation for many years, and on Aug 23, 1969 he married the love of his life, Joyce Kovack (nee Roxburgh). They enjoyed 53 years full of love, laughter, and adventure.

Dave is survived by his wife Joyce, their two children Kimberly Kovack and Kerri Kovack, his two son-in-laws Paul Pfeiffer and Eric Radke, grandchildren Joycelene Radke and David Pfeiffer, as well as an extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A solid Christian faith offered Dave comfort and shaped him throughout the course of his life, making him a strong role model, guiding his children with positive values and morals. His kindness and compassion was evident to all he met. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Dave would be there to assist family or neighbours any way he could. He shared his love of cooking and food in that eastern European tradition with all who stopped by for a visit.

For all of us fortunate enough to have known him, Dave will remain as an indelible imprint on our lives and in our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held at Newcastle Funeral Home, 386 Mill St S, Newcastle, on April 21, 2023, visitation starting at 12:00.

Donations in Dave's memory may be made to The Boys and Girls Christian Brigade Canada or Clarington Hospice.
