Carmichael ChristineCARMICHAEL, Christine Bernice Carmichael  -

FEBRUARY 29, 1952 – APRIL 11, 2023

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Christine Bernice Carmichael, age 71, of Oshawa, Ontario on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

Christine was born in Oshawa to the Late Mathew and Anela Masternak of Warsaw, Poland.

Predeceased by her caring husband Richard Carmichael (1985) who shared great adventures in their early years, and her loving Partner Harvey Barber (2016) who always knew how to make her laugh.

The heart and soul of her family, she was an amazing sister to Jenny and Matthew, incredible aunt, and a loyal friend. As a devoted Aunt, Christine was especially fond of her 2 nieces Amanda and Jessica (Joshua) who knew her as ChaCha.

Known for her tender heart, gracious charm and strength, Christine leaves behind her one and only Nephew Christopher (Jen) whom she adored with all her heart.

Her positive attitude and comforting presence will be missed by all that know her. Her love for her family was immeasurable.

An avid knitter, seamstress, quilter and crafter, Christine enjoyed making blankets, scarfs, and other keepsakes for her family and friends; she even made her own wedding dress.

She loved cooking and as a master in the kitchen, she was the gracious host of innumerable Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter celebrations, plus any other opportunities to get together for her family. She also kept an incredible garden, which was featured in Oshawa’s Communities in Bloom.

She has always been, and will continue to be, a pillar of strength for her family. Her humour, generous ways, gentle smile, and kindness will live on forever through all of us.  The family appreciates all of your prayers and kind gestures during this difficult time.

A visitation for Christine will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL , 1587 Hwy #2, Courtice, Ontario.

A funeral service will occur in the chapel at 10:30 AM. A burial will take place at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. A reception will occur following the interment at the funeral home.

Contributions in Christine's memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at  courticefuneralchapel.com for the Masternak/Campbell family.
