Kennedy HughKENNEDY, Hugh Alexander  -  Went to be with the Lord in his 91st year, on April 30, 2023.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of forty-six years, Joyce (nee Stafford).

Hugh was a devoted father to his children, Brian and Sandra (Phil) Reimer. Hugh had two grandchildren, Daniel and Sarah Reimer, whom he loved to talk about and absolutely adored. Hugh was in the photofinishing business at the start of his professional career and later owned a Hallmark Gold Crown store in downtown Montreal.

In the mid-1970s, he moved the family to Ontario to opening a manufacturing plant, where he worked alongside Joyce until they retired in 1996.

In the early 2000s, the couple moved to Oshawa to be near Sandra and Phil and to watch their grandchildren grow up. Hugh received Christ in his early twenties and immediately became involved in Christian service with Youth for Christ, where he met Joyce. They were married in 1957 in Montreal, his hometown, and went on to serve with the Gideons and in the many churches they attended over the years.

Hugh and Joyce loved to vacation at the ocean, and in his spare time, Hugh could be found tinkering with his model railroad, watching movies on his iPad, or attending the many sporting events of his grandchildren.

In his later years, he travelled to visit Brian in California many times, and together, he and Brian traveled Route 66 and also visited PEI, England, and Nova Scotia. Hugh’s wise counsel, generosity, and kind and gentle spirit will be missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Wednesday May 3rd, 2023 from 6 – 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday May 4th, 2023 at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel.

Interment at Thornton Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Hugh to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or The Gideons would be appreciated.
