DONALD, Alexander Donald   -

August 13, 1939 - May 25, 2023

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones.

Reunited with his mum, dad, and 3 brothers, there will be bagpipes and high fives in heaven tonight.

Papa will be deeply missed by his entire family, his loving wife of 59 years, Elizabeth (Betty), his 3 children, Jim (Lynn) Lynn and Mary.

Especially missed and loved by his 5 grandchildren, Connor, Sarah, Ceileigh (Kenneth) Parker, and Mackenzie. And his beloved great-grand daughter Isla. His sister Mhairi (Tom) in Scotland. And his many nieces and nephews in both Canada and Scotland.

Those who knew Alex know how much his family meant to him, and spending time with his grandchildren was his favourite thing to do.

He came to Canada in 1971, but never truly left Scotland in his heart. Worked 30 years at Johnson and Johnson, a job he was proud of and loved.

A diehard Toronto Maple Leaf, Greenock Morton fan, but watching his grandchildren playing their sports was his greatest pleasure.  Mostly we will miss his great sense of humour, always quick with a joke, or a funny story.  Our hearts are sad, but our memories will live on forever.

Visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division Street North Bowmanville on Tuesday May 30th, 2023 from 6 - 8 pm.  Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday May 31st at 11 am, with visitation from 10 - 11 am.

Memorial Donations may be made to Diabetes Canada or The CNIB.
