PIERIK, Theodorus (Ted) Johannes Pierik  -

Sept 16 1937 – June 5 2023

Ted passed away peacefully, with his wife and family by his side. He was 85 years of age.

Loving husband for 58 years to Henrica (Mary) Albers.

Loving dad to Joanne, Karen, Rick, (Carol-Anne) and Brenda (Tony).

Loving Opa to Marla, Stephen, William, Jordan, Marissa, Laura, Michelle, Theo, Alex and the late Sarah. Great Opa to Elliot, Logan, Hazel, Leah and Anna. Remember with much love by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers, Hennie, Gerard, John, Willy and his sisters Aly, Annie and Nel.

Ted came to Canada in 1959 from the Netherlands, a few years later he met the love of his life, Mary. They were married for 58 years, when Cancer took Ted away. Ted loved life, going camping with his family and grandkids. He loved doing woodwork, making cradles for his grandchildren and also many wooden toys that the little ones still play with today.

Since his retirement from GM in 2000, Ted was always smiling and laughing and could be seen driving through Newcastle on his scooter to the pool for his daily swim, having coffee with friends or walking his dog Zoey. We will miss him deeply.

Funeral mass for Ted will be held on Saturday 10th of June 2023 at 11am in St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Newcastle with celebration of life to follow in the church hall downstairs.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St Francis Assisi Church or Bowmanville hospital in Ted’s name.
