Willson DorothyWILLSON, Dorothy Elaine -    January 6th, 1924 – September 29th, 2015

Passed away peacefully on September 29th at the age of 91.

Predeceased by her husbands; Stanley Willson (1973), David Low (1989), and Ken Kansikas (1999) and her son Glenn S. Willson (Lorrie).

Loving mother of Nancy Matwychuk (Al), Carol Willson-Goodchild, Donald Willson (Alexandra), Douglas Willson (Mirelle), and Stephen Willson (Jennifer).

She will be fondly remembered by her 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Cherished sister of Patricia Grabowski.

She lived a full happy life. Married to Lieutenant Stan Willson June 24, 1944. Stationed in St. John’s Newfoundland, Dorothy worked in the military hospital. Stan was moved overseas, and after the war they both settled in Oshawa and raised their family. She formed the first IOD chapter in 1949 which has raised millions of dollars for local charities.

She was an active golfer at the Oshawa Golf Club, an active skier at the Oshawa Ski Club and a volunteer for 30 years at Lakeridge Health Hospital Oshawa.

She travelled the world extensively. However, her favourite times were summers spent at Balsam Lake spending time with family and friends.

Cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of life will be held.
