Kimmerly GeorgeKIMMERLY, “Kim”  - February 24, 1956 -  December 24, 2017

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Kim Kimmerly at the age of 61, on December 24, 2017 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

After a brave and valiant battle that lasted over 4 years, Kim fought every step of the way with a spirit and determination that never faltered. He passed away with his loving partner Leigh by his side.

Kim was born at Oshawa General Hospital on February 24, 1956 to Patricia (Eggert) and late Wayne Kimmerly.

He was a loving father of Tara and Nicole and cherished Papa of Isabell, Venessa, Montana, Justice, Meadow and Donte. Dear brother of Debbie (Alex), Scott (Trish) and Diana (Brian).

Kim will be sadly missed by all the family including Kelly, Julie, Andrew, Leanna, Hallie, Hannah, Lisa, as well as by many aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.

He will be forever remembered for his positive outlook on life and generous disposition. His heartfelt love of family, friends and his cats will forever remain in the minds of those he leaves behind. The family expresses their sincerest gratitude to Brian for support and friendship to Kim and his family during this difficult time.

While growing up Kim was very athletic and played many sports.

He also loved music and had been to many concerts throughout his life, enjoying many genres from Pink Floyd to his favourite, Elvis. Kim even partied with Doug and the Slugs! Kim went to school at Durham College and graduated with a Business Administration Diploma.

He had a sales career all of his life-living in Western Canada, Montreal, England and finally back home in Oshawa for approximately the last 15 years.

Visitation will take place Saturday, January 13, 2018 at THORNTON CEMETERY AND FUNERAL CENTRE, (1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa ON L1H 7K4) from 12 pm until time of Service in the Chapel at 2pm.
