Machala Jaskola AlinaMACHALA-JASKOLA, Alina - June 12, 1935- March 16, 2018

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Alina Jaskola on Friday March 16, 2018, in the company of her family at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, in her 83rd year.

Beloved wife of Mieczyzlaw (Mitch) Jaskola (predeceased 2002) and the late Wladyslaw (Walter) Machala (1990).

Loving daughter of the late Roman and Teofila Kalisz (nee Gendek) of Poland. Cherished mother of John Machala (B.C.), Yolanta Machala, Donna Majerczyk (Stan), and Les Machala. Beloved grandmother (Babunia/Nana) of Ashley, Alanna and Stefan Machala (B.C.), late Michael (2004), Lisa, Jessica and Monica Majerczyk and Matthew Machala (Oshawa,ON).

Proud great grandma (G.G.) to Summer (B.C.). Loving sister of Barbara (Helmut) Rehdner and family (ON) and Janina Oslizlok and family (Poland) and predeceased by Krystyna, Roman and Heniek of Poland.

Alina will be dearly missed by her extended family and her many dear friends and staff members at Harmony Hill Retirement Community (Osh), where she enjoyed independent living.

A “Special” thank you to all team members/staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa (4th Floor Supportive Care Unit) and (6th Floor Surgical Unit) for their dedicated, kind and compassionate care of Alina during her stay at L.H.O.

Alina was a beautiful, selfless, hardworking matriarch of the family (a warrior), who had a firm, but fair attitude towards her children; and a youthful disposition. Her multicultural cooking skills impressed anyone who walked through her door.

Her flower gardens and vegetable gardens made her the envy of the neighbourhood. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing with her husband Mitch on Pigeon Lake, Bobbaygeon (where they set up home) where they would compete at fishing.

A Celebration of Life will be held at ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Sunday March 25, 2018 from 2-4pm.

To place an online condolence please visit  armstrongfh.ca.

She will remain  “FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS”.
