SIMMONDS, Betty Graham (née McNeill)  - Passed peacefully into the presence of God surrounded by family, at her home in Toronto, Ontario, on March 27, 2018.

Pre-deceased by her husband of 63 years, Leonard Claude Simmonds.

Betty was born at her grandparents' home on Wright Avenue, Toronto, to her parents Kezia and John Herbert McNeill on October 24, 1921.

While she lived her whole life in Toronto; her other love was for their property in Uxbridge township and the community of Glen Major. Betty is survived by six of her seven children: Ruth Simmonds, the late David C. Simmonds (Suzanne); Anne Simmonds (Bruce Bennett); John Simmonds; Bruce Simmonds (Tamara); Paul Simmonds (Heather Van Sickle); Lois Simmonds.

Grandchildren: (Ruth) Louise Korhonen, Shelagh Popov, Wesley Korhonen and Laura Korhonen; (David) Paul, Anne Marie, Mark, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Peter and Rebecca Lockie; (Anne) Greg Chambers, Johanna Chambers, Samantha Cantin, Kirsten Bennett, Christopher Bennett; (John) Graham, Kathryn, Matthew, Kristen, Jack, and Henry; (Bruce) Benjamin, Joshua, Daniel, and James; (Paul) William; (Lois) Rachel Laurens, and Jessica Weaver.

Loved eldest sister of Ruth McNeill, Margaret Worozbyt (deceased Morry), Arnold McNeill (Helen), Allan McNeill (Marion) both deceased. Betty was a gracious, generous, loving woman. Her entire life was given to others: her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren (36); her extended family of brothers, sisters, in-laws and their families.

She was actively involved in her church community at Immanuel Baptist Church and supported the many business activities of husband Claude.

The family wishes to thank her two long time physicians, Dr. S. Buchanan, and Dr. L. Daniel and the many health care providers who have supported her through the years and most recently.

The funeral will be held Holy Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1100 Finch Ave East, North York at 1pm.

Visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 11:30 am. A reception will immediately follow the service. Private family interment at a later date.

If desired, gifts in Betty's memory may be directed to Immanuel Baptist Church and Yonge Street Mission.
