 Ayre WilliamAYRE, William Arthur Lloyd - (1924 - 2018) - At his home with his family by his side on Monday, April 9, 2018.

Lloyd, loved husband of the late Arline (nee Northcutt) and shared their love for each other for 69 years.

Loved and loving father of Cindy of Elora, Wendy, and John (Joyce), both of Bowmanville.

Proud Poppa of his grandchildren, Ashley, Curtis (Kalie), Tyson, Ayres, Darren (Erin), Krista and great grandchildren, Georgia, Makenna, and Avery.

Predeceased by his twin brother Boyd (Irene) of Hampton, sister Audrey and her husband Arnold Gardner, and parents Alfred and Mary (nee Trull) Ayre. Remembered by nieces, nephews, and friends.

Lloyd was a prominent livestock sheep breeder (Ayre Acres Farm) showing at fairs across Canada and the U.S.A. He has also judged many fairs across Canada, Chicago International on two occasions, and Brazil.

He served as President of Canadian Sheep Breeders, chairman of Canadian National Livestock Records, member of the Sheep Committee of the C.N.E. and Royal Winter Fair, winning Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor Banners, on 10 different occasions.

He served 30 years as Director and Past Chairman of Canadian Co-operative Wool Groomers, being honoured by receiving the highest tribute “Honourary Knight of the Golden Fleece”.

He was committed to high ideals and leaves a lasting legacy to his family, community and the livestock industry.

A Funeral Service will be held with Northcutt-Elliott Funeral home on Saturday April 21st at 1 pm, with visitation from 12 pm – 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to Bowmanville Hospital Foundation.
