GARG,Nirmal PGOODMAN, Lorne Booth  -

June 1, 1925 – June 3, 2024

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lorne Booth Goodman. Lorne passed away peacefully at the age of 99 years old.

Beloved husband of Lorraine (McLaughlin). Loving father of Wayne (Sally), Bob (Alana) and Pete (Wilma).

Cherished grandfather of Dennis, Natalie (Evan), Paul, Jamie (Peter), Miranda (Tom), Megan and Brent (Victoria).

Great grandfather of Blake, Kylee, Lilah, Corbin, Bree, Ben, Jonathan and Harper, and great great grandfather of Tatum and Noah. Best friend of Don White. Lorne was born and raised in Columbus.

The only son of Fred and Mae Ella Goodman. Lorne attended McKenzie School and O’Neill High School.

After graduation he enlisted in the Canadian Army. He served in France, Belgium and Holland. He was wounded in the Battle of Scheldt.

Lorne returned to Oshawa in April 1946.

He became a plumbing apprentice for his father Fred.

In 1954 he took over his father’s business starting, Lorne Goodman Plumbing. He ran a very successful plumbing business and retired in 1992.

Lorne was very involved in Columbus United Church, loved travelling, spending time at the cottage, but mostly Lorne loved his family.

“Family is the most important”.

Lorne received the Legion of Honour from the Republic of France on his 99th birthday. Lorne was honoured with a street in his name by the City of Oshawa.

Thank you to the amazing staff at Wynfield Retirement Residence and thank you to Reverend Richard Parker.

Visitation will be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Tuesday June 18 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m.

GARG,Nirmal PLEWIS, Wade Gerard   -  Passed away unexpectedly on Monday June 3, 2024 at the age of 56.

Beloved husband of Deborah. Loving son of Andrew and Shirley Lewis.

Dear father of Travis and Kristen (Tyler).

Brother of Georgina (Tom), Dave (Darlene), Sean (Lisa), Joyce (Dave), Plemon (Tracy) and Norman (Bernadette).

Predeceased by his parents-in-law Martin and Laura George.

Will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

GARG,Nirmal PTOTARO, Anthony "Tony"   -  Peacefully on Tuesday May 28th, 2024, at the age of 37 years.

Beloved son of Barbara and the Late Joseph.

Loving brother of Joanna (Marcell), and Christina (Frank). Cherished uncle of Joey, Jenna, Stella, Charlotte, and Henry.

Tony will be lovingly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Visitation will be held at the W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL 110 Dundas Street in Whitby on Monday June 10th from 10:00am - 11:00am. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at 11:00am.

ROGERS, Glenna Rogers  - Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Douglas Crossing, Uxbridge, Ontario on Tuesday May 28, 2024, at the age of 94.

Our hearts are broken.

Mom will be terribly missed by her daughters, Paula (Bruce) Thompson and Jan Huntley. Loving Nan to 6; Chris (Laura), Ashley (Andrew), Stephanie (Taylor), Courtney (Jacob), Clay (Quincy) and Vanessa (Cody) and affectionately known as ‘Grandnan’ to 11 Great Grandchildren.

Also survived by her two sisters, Verna Wood of Burlington and Laura (Lolly) Hicks of Sudbury.

Born in Parry Sound, Ontario, Glenna spent much of her early life in Westree and Mileage 56 with her parents Douglas Campbell and Laura Campbell, nee Barager. This is where her love of family and nature began. Glenna enjoyed music, dancing, reading, puzzles, playing cards and “Happy Hour.”

She was happiest being with family. Her infectious laugh and the joy she brought to everyone will never be forgotten. She was “Nan” to many and touched everyone she met in a special way.

Cremation.

In honour of Glenna, a private celebration of life will be held by her family.

MOORE, Ronald Frederick Moore  -  Peacefully slipped into the arms of his Saviour and Lord on Tuesday May 28th, 2024.

He is predeceased by his parents Jack and Gladys and his siblings George, Frank, Jack and Barbara.

He is also predeceased by his wife Vera (1961-1990) and his wife Jane (1991-2006).

Dad is survived by his children Timothy, Scott, Bonnie-Sue, Laura-Leigh, Linda, Laura and Lisa. Proud Grandpa to Robert, Adam, Rachael, Tobin, Lucas and Riley and Papa to Brandon, Curtis, Taylor, Sarah, Hannah, Seth, Esther, Lydia and Robin.

Great Grandpa to Riley, Aiden, Elizabeth and Ella and Great Papa to Jack, Linlee, Landon, Reid, Cooper, Jace, Greyson, Brooks, Haven, Leah, Melanie, Audrey, Paisley, Ryker, Natalie, Nora, Quinn and Cohen.

Dad’s Faith in Jesus Christ and profound love for his family were everything to him.

Dad lived his faith by loving deeply and forgiving always.

“I have fought the good and worthy and noble fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7.

Well done my good and faithful servant.

Visitation will be held at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, Bowmanville on Sunday June 2nd,2024 from 2-4pm and Funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 4th at 2pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow.

MAY 9, 1950 – MAY 27, 2024

Peacefully passed on Monday May 27th, 2024 surrounded by family, at the age of 74 years.

Predeceased by her loving husband Clark. Sadly missed by daughter Alana Westlake (Ken), Trina Ashby and Rob Stark. Beloved grandmother to Stephanie Westlake (Billy Lang), Jamie Smith (Thorne), Devin Westlake (Kaylene), Austin Westlake (Kristi), Steven (Mikayla), Danielle (Sam), Allison, and Amanda.

Cherished great grandmother to Peyton and Taylor.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday July 20th from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 43, located at 471 Simcoe Street South, Oshawa.

DECEMBER 28, 1939 – MAY 27, 2024

Hilmar Kiesekamp, an Educator who worked for the Northumberland - Clarington Board of Education for 30 years; age 84, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday May 27th, 2024.

He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Beloved husband of Elza, loving father of Esther and Liza.

Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Justin and Benjamin and his great grandchildren Evan, Nolan, Conor and Aleida.

Beloved brother to his twin brother Burkhard and other siblings Vera, Engel, Wilhelm and Edelgard. Hilmar enjoyed listening to classical music, photography and documenting all our special family moments.

He was an avid golfer who enjoyed being out on the course with his daughter Liza, grandsons Justin and Ben and his friends.

STEWART, Cam  -  Passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by the love of his family on Tuesday June 4, 2024, at the age of 78 years.

Loved and missed by his wife of 55 years; Alice (nee O’Beirn).

Cam will always be remembered by his daughter Colleen, grandson Finn, son Craig, daughter in law, Lana, and grandsons Ewan and Bram.

Survived by his many brothers & sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Cam was a family man and a lifelong farmer in heart and soul.

He loved sports, playing hockey and baseball for many years along with coaching his children’s teams. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and friends and family.

Cam had a long career at Bell Canada and after retiring, Cam started his own consulting company doing driver and forklift training.

In addition, Cam dedicated many years serving as President of the Uxbridge Junior C Bruins; Chairman of the Goodwood Cemetery Board; an active member of his Church; and along with his prized goats and loving wife, participated in several community fairs every year.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Cam with his family and friends at Low & Low Funeral Home, , Uxbridge on Sunday June 9, 2024 from 1 – 4 PM.  A funeral service will be celebrated from Eastridge Evangelical Missionary Church, 12485 Tenth Line, Whitchurch-Stouffville on Monday June 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM follow by a reception in the Church Hall.

GARG,Nirmal PVOLPE, Edward John  -  It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Edward John Volpe on June 3, 2024 at the age of 50.

Beloved husband of Anne Volpe (nee Roberts).

Loving father of Michael Titus and Veronica Volpe.

He is predeceased by his parents Michael Volpe and Laureen Wright.

He will truly be missed by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at MOUNT LAWN FUNERAL HOME , 21 Garrard Road in Whitby, ON from 4: 00p.m to 6: 00p.m with a service to follow in the chapel.
