Lynn Frances Enns

September 21, 1943 – January 5, 2025

It is with profound sadness that the family of Lynn Frances Enns announces her peaceful passing on January 5, 2025, at Hamilton General Hospital. Lynn was the beloved wife of Ervin for 58 years and the loving mother of Russell (Anne Marie) and Tracy (Mark Audit). She was a proud grandmother to Ryan (Kaylea), Aidan, and Christopher, and great-grandmother to Vanna, Malcolm, Ryot, and Love.

Lynn was a cherished member of her community, serving as a Brownie leader and a volunteer with the Arthritis Society. She was a choir member at St. John Bosco RC Church and a long-time CWL member. Her warm presence and dedication will be deeply missed.

The Enns family will receive friends at Armstrong Funeral Home and Chapel, 179 Clarence St., Port Colborne, on Thursday, January 9, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 10, at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church at 11:00 am. A private family interment will follow.

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his boys, on December 23, 2024 at Lakeridge Health Ajax, in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Angie. Loving dad of Ricky Joe, Mike (Helga), and Dave (Manon). Grandpa of Nick, Jessica (Mark), Derrick (Liz), Maria, and Crystal (Justin). Great-grandpa of Layne Josephine. Dear brother of Fred and John.

As per Joe’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date.

Nancy Diane Shaw (Kerr)

December 22, 2024

Suddenly passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the age of 81.

Predeceased by her devoted husband Wallace “Wally”. Loving mother of Stephen, Heather (Percy Napper), and Trevor Shaw (Erica). Cherished grandmother of Gage, Chase, Willow, Meadow, Julianna (Nathan), Madeline, Charlotte, Tori (Nate Armstrong), Trisha (Will Butty), Ashleigh (Robert), Cecilia, and Carolina, and great-grandmother of Owen, Emilia, Percy Jr., and Xavier. Dear sister of Deborah Kerr (Olaf de Shield) and aunt of Madeline.

Nancy and Wally were the proud longtime owners of Tapsco Alarms for over 28 years. Nancy loved to travel, but her most enjoyable moments were spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 10-11 a.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Memorial Service will follow in the Chapel at 11 a.m.

Theresia Josephina Murtaugh

July 30, 1950 - December 14, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Nana, Theresia Josephina Murtaugh, on December 14, 2024.
She passed away surrounded by her family at the St. Catharines Hospital. Theresia joins her loving husband, Patrick Sr. (2023),
her parents Anthony and Petronella, and her brothers Art (Carol), Hank (Eva), and Pete.

She will be forever missed by her children, Joanna (John), Patrick (Dorothy), and her loving grandchildren Destiny, Dawson, and Dakota.
Also survived by her sister Jeanette (Jim) and brothers Tony (Beth) and Fred (Lenore). Beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to Armstrong Funeral Home & Chapel,
179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne.

The Murtaugh family will receive family and friends at the Vale Wellness Centre - Bocce Club, 550 Elizabeth Street, Port Colborne,
on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 1-5 p.m.

If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the YMCA Niagara. Theresia will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to have her in their lives.

Passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home with his wife Susan by his side on December 18, 2024 at the age of 76.

Beloved husband of Susan Stones for more than 40 years.

Proud father of Jennifer Stones Hanni (Paul) and Patricia Stones (John Forsyth). Loving Grandfather of Tiffany Anne Stones and the late Michael Forsyth. Great grandfather of Scarlett & Kylen.

Terry will be lovingly remembered by his many family members and friends.

Proud retiree of General Motors after 35 years of service.

Terry loved sports… hockey, baseball, curling…playing, watching and following his favourite teams. He was a very active hockey player during his primary and high school years and played with the Oshawa Minor Hockey League. He was obsessed with the world and news events. He had strong values and beliefs, and an ability to use very few words to show his strong unwavering message. He always planned and encouraged others to plan for tomorrow. He had an obsession with a clean car and ensured that everyone had washer fluid, and working windshield wipers. Terry also loved telling stories of people and events in Durham region. He was loved for his laughter and his mischievous grin. He was a quiet, reserved person who enjoyed spending his time together with Susan. Terry was an animal lover as well and enjoyed his pets.

As per Terry’s wishes, no service will take place. Cremation has taken place.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Tire Sports for Kids Program “Jumpstart” would be appreciated by the family.

Betty Riley (Barnes)

Peacefully passed away, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Age Care Samac, just 4 days prior to celebrating her 99th birthday.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Len (2015) and her brothers Alf and Roy.

Loving mother of David (Darla) and Janice (Wayne). Cherished Nana of Julie (Marc), Adam (Tobi), Gregory, and Laura and Great-Nana of Avery, Regan, Lucas, and Mason. Dear sister of Geoff and Jean. Betty will be fondly remembered by Tony, Jennifer and their family.

Betty was born in Eccles, Lancashire, England and was proud to carry her heritage with grace and strength throughout her life. She immigrated to Canada in 1953, where she built a life filled with love, laughter and countless cherished memories.

Betty and Len were founding members of the Oshawa and District Old Country Club.

Betty was a woman of many talents. She had a passion for knitting, sewing, dancing and cooking. Her delicious butter tarts will be missed by many.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our brother, Gregory Washington, on December 4th, 2024.

Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Karen Washington. Dear brother of Karen Lynne Ashmore (Philip) and Cindy Anne Washington (Rob). Adored uncle of Nicholas Alexander and Justin Philip Ashmore.

Greg will be lovingly remembered by his extended family and friends. He enjoyed cooking, watching funny movies, silly memes, and adored all animals. He always held a special place in his heart for his beloved dog, Trixie.

Please join the family to Celebrate Greg’s life on Saturday, December 14th at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Service at 2:00 PM.

Cremation will follow, and a private family interment of ashes will take place in the future at Oshawa Union Cemetery, where he will join his parents for eternity.

McMurray, Dean Allan

Passed away with his family by his side on Monday, December 2, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dean, in his 66th year, leaves behind his beloved wife Barbara.

Dear son of Helen and the late Richard. Predeceased by his daughter Sandra Randall, March 1, 2024. Loved stepdad of Graeme Dyrseth (Amber) and Annalise Dyrseth. Cherished granddad of Conner, Colt, Winter, and the late Gavin, Epiphany, and Bensen. Dear brother of Gail Helm (Mark), Ron McMurray (Holly), and Don McMurray (Dana). Dean will be sadly missed by his many extended family and friends.

Dean was a logger by trade, which took him to work in Northern and Eastern Ontario. He loved his job and enjoyed operating the heavy equipment that accompanied the logging industry. Dean and Barbara cherished living on their boat from 2015 until his illness in early 2024. He was a homebody who loved sharing stories about his work in logging and enjoyed his time boating, working, and spending time on the water.

Please join with the family on Saturday, December 7th, at 2 PM to celebrate Dean’s life at a Memorial Service held at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa. Visitation will be held from 1 PM to 2 PM prior to the service. Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dean to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated by the family.

Barbara, a beloved aunt and friend, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the age of 74. Known for her warm smile, infectious laughter, and unwavering kindness, Barbara spent her days nurturing her loved ones and bringing joy to those around her.

Barbara was the beloved sister of Henryk, Bogdan, Andrej, and Halina. She was a dear aunt to Eva, Edita, Milena, and Ilona, and a great-aunt to Christopher, Julie, Tyler, Caroline, Spencer, and Brandon. She was also a cherished friend to Diane and Lisa. Barbara will be deeply missed by all her family and friends in Canada and Poland, who will forever remember her as a source of love and support. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all she touched.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 4-8 p.m., with Prayers at 4 p.m., at Armstrong Funeral Home (124 King St. E., Oshawa). A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel. Interment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery (355 Taunton Rd. E., Whitby).
