Elayne Gold (Nee Maron) passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the age of 92. Devoted wife of the late Manuel Theodore (Teddy) Gold. Beloved mother of Nancy Gold, Joanne Gold Cummings (Richard Cummings), Lynda Gold (Mark Lazarus), and Norman Gold. Cherished grandmother and great-grandmother to many.

Funeral services will take place at Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Thursday, January 16, at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at the Congregation Shaar Hashomayim Cemetery. Shiva details and additional information can be found at the source.

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of David Menaker, on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Mackenzie Health. He passed peacefully, surrounded by family, knowing he was loved. Cherished son of the late Freda and Manny Menaker.

Beloved husband of Ronnie Starr-Menaker and the late Elaine Menaker. Proud father and father-in-law of Lisa, Rena, Andrea, and Kyle. Loving Zaidy of Samantha, Joshua, Chloe, and Elayna. Dear brother of Doreen.

Our deepest gratitude for the exceptional care David received from the Liver Transplant Team at University Health Network. Thank you to palliative care Drs. Blachowitz, Beausoleil, and Khemlin, and the supportive team on the Mackenzie Health Palliative Care Unit. On the afternoon of Friday, December 20, 2024, Marvin David Klotz, beloved husband of the late Susan Alberta Klotz, passed away peacefully. Marvin was the devoted father and father-in-law of Jennifer and Matthew Ritter, Michael Klotz, and David and Maki Klotz, and was the loving Zeyda of Coby and Ezra Ritter.

He was the dear brother and brother-in-law of the late Phil and Jenny Klotz and Sid and the late Flo Klotz and leaves behind a large extended Klotz family. Marvin was a true mensch. He will forever be remembered for his incomparable sense of humour, sharp intellect and wit, and devotion to his family. He will be deeply missed.

Natalie Wajs Rashkovan

Peacefully and surrounded by family after facing pancreatic cancer with resilience and strength, our family is devastated by the loss of our matriarch, Natalie Wajs Rashkovan.

Natalie was the devoted wife of 33 years to David Rashkovan. She was the beloved daughter and daughter-in-law of Helen (z”l) and Philip Wajs, and Freda (z”l) and Ernie (z”l) Rashkovan.

Loving mother and mother-in-law to Brennan and Rebecca, and Luke and Jillian, and doting “Lili” to Asher. Cherished sister and sister-in-law to Richard and Marcy Wajs, Barry and Tracey Rashkovan, and Michael and Liane Eliesen.

Natalie will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, and the numerous friends whose lives she touched so profoundly. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she truly believed that it was better to give than to receive.

Natalie lived life to the fullest, enjoying time with her family, friends, her beloved cat Sammy, and grand-dog Brody. Her leadership and kindness left an indelible mark on those fortunate to know her, and her legacy will continue through her family and friends.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Rick and Jeff for their care, Natalie’s home-care nurse Mahmood for his visits, and the oncology and palliative care teams at Sunnybrook Hospital.

On Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto, we mourn the passing of Jak Jabes. He was the devoted son of the late Leon and Esti Jabes and beloved husband of 50 years to Vicky.

Loving father to Jascha (Eliane) and Boris (Monica). Dear brother of Rachel Farhi, and cherished brother-in-law of the late Jack Farhi, Bernard, and Linette Cohen. Devoted Papi to Jack and Max.

Jak will be deeply missed by his extended family, including nieces, nephews, and cousins: Kristelle, Rita, Michael, and Charles. He will also be fondly remembered by his many friends, colleagues, and students around the world.

Jak’s remarkable career spanned academia and numerous international organizations, leaving a lasting impact on many. His life and work inspired those fortunate enough to know him.

On Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Sagecare Retirement Home, surrounded by the love of family, we mourn the passing of Rachelle Moll. She was the beloved wife of the late Willie Moll z”l for 54 years.

Loving mother and mother-in-law of Marc and Michelle, Len, and Annette. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Rita Eder, Anny and Eli Aviram, and Chaim and Peshie Eder. Devoted grandmother to Amanda, Melissa, Alexa, and Stephen. She was a cherished aunt to Andrea and Jacky, Daniella and Danny, Karen and Kevin, David and Lauren, Sara, Yoav, and Sarit.

Born in Antwerp, Belgium, on November 22, 1937, Rachelle and her beloved parents, the late Mendel and Sarah z”l, fled from the Nazis to Mexico City. Her love for family knew no bounds, and she embodied the spirit of Tikkun Olam – the act of repairing the world.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Sagecare 147 Elder Street Retirement Home for their exceptional care and support during Rachelle’s final days.

While the passing of this beautiful soul is profoundly sad, her rich spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Go in peace, beloved Rachelle.
