It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Robyn Medicine on February 9, 2025.
Robyn was a proud member of the "Makwa" (Bear) clan and deeply committed to her Anishinaabe culture.
A dedicated leader in reconciliation, she played an instrumental role at the Thunder Bay Public Library, establishing Indigenous Knowledge Centres.
A visitation will be held on February 21, 2025, at Blake Funeral Chapel, with a traditional burial on February 22 in Mitaanjigamiing First Nation.

We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mom, Eva Mary Peters, on Thursday, December 12th, 2024.
As per her wishes, a cremation will take place on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024. Family and friends are invited to join in a traditional celebration of her life on Friday, December 20th, 2024, at Blake Funeral Chapel.
Details of Celebration of Life:
- Time: Family and friends may gather at 11:00 a.m. to share stories, memories, and reflect on Eva’s life.
- Ceremony: The service will take place at 12:00 p.m. the same day.

Kenneth "Ken" John Clapp, 66, of Cloud Bay, passed away on November 29, 2024, at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Born in Fort William, Ontario, on February 22, 1958, Ken attended Blake Public School and Selkirk Collegiate and Vocational Institute.
Ken was a dedicated truck driver, working for many years with Forest Transport Ltd. and later with Chaschuk Enterprises, where he retired. He enjoyed hockey, baseball, fishing, and hunting in his younger years and always looked forward to barbecues and gatherings with friends and family.
Predeceased by his wife Brenda Ellen Clapp (née Morency), parents John Kenneth and Yvette, brother Don, sister Karen, sister-in-law Kathy, father-in-law Paul Morency, mother-in-law Ethel Morency (née Anness), and others. Ken is survived by his children John (Joelle), Daniel (April), and Michael; granddaughters Danica and Maggie; his brother Ron; sister Judith (Gordon); sister-in-law Brenda; brother-in-law Roy (Laurie); sister-in-law Linda, and many extended family members and friends.
As per Ken’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
